This Saturday both the Grizzlies (1sts) & the Bears (2nds) are at home in the league against Forrester and Kilmarnock. There will be a Members Pre-Match Lunch (needs to be pre-booked - contact Derek Bowman by Thursday latest) at a measly tenner a head at 1.00pm. in the clubhouse.

Before the firsts match against Forrester there will also be a short opening ceremony of the new stand to which all are invited.

A new era in Youth rugby in the area got off to the best possible start on Saturday as Lomond and Helensburgh took to the field for the first time. The Lomond School/Helensburgh RFC combined sides faced Belmont House School from Newton Mearns in the first fixture of the season. Belmont House could only field a 1st XV, S1 team and a Primary team so other year groups had to make do with training for next weekend's matches against Queen Victoria School.

Burgh travelled to Prestonpans with high hopes of a winning start to the new season. It was not to be however.

The second half was tied, 10 points apiece, but the damage was caused in the first half as the home side led 36 - 7.
