Summertime...

Okay, enough messing about with the website. This, temporary website will run until we clean out everything and by the new season we should be squeeky clean and sparkling - much like the the teams setting out on the road of the 13/14 season.

We will be adding news here but you will also have the interaction of Facebook, the youth rugby website and the 50th anniversary website.

Helensburgh 7s

On a grey day with threatening skies Helensburgh held their annual sevens tournament again sponsored by the Royal Bar. Despite last minute call offs two groups of five teams battled it out in the short version of the game. Defending champions Greenock appeared with a youthful team, hoping to get the double along with GHK worthy winners two years ago.

The Annual Helensburgh Rugby Club 7s Tournament

The Royal Bar have once again agreed to sponsor our 7’s tournament this Saturday and we are grateful to them for their continued support. The fast and furious action starts at 1pm and we have 12 teams participating.

Please come along to support our boys and the bar, not to mention our cricketers who have a home match on Saturday - What more could you want for a Saturday afternoon??

Veterans 10s

Now confirmed the next vets games in a full 8 team tournament will be on the 8th of June, try and come and play

Humdinger of a game against Marr

Helensburgh’s last game of the season was against Marr on Saturday. Despite requests, the game could not be moved to a midweek fixture and it followed the club’s end of season and award dinner held on Friday night. Unusually the selected team were abstemious a reflection of their commitment. All three award winners, player of the season Phil Rogers, young player Connor Slader and most improved Kane Greggain were all selected for the starting line-up.

Burgh get nothing at Killie!

Burgh travelled to Kilmarnock in the second last game of the season and failed to score for the first time in yonks. A disjointed game where every mistake by Burgh seemed to be punished by the fired up home side.
